They do walnut stocks as well and fully finished if you want.

Once they get their act together they will be onto a good thing, the stocks look great.
Land Rovers, who would be daft enough to own one?

Nothing to show at this stage. Just thinking about it. I may run a Tika stock off in the next few weeks and see how it goes.
I have had a look and don't see anybody doing what I am thinking about. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.
More research needed.

Send me links of the people you know doing it. I will compare.

A few years back there was a chap on (I think) BBS selling a duplicating router table for stocks etc. I looked into this in a big way for several weeks with the intention of buying said machine as a sideline.
When I looked into it in depth there were quite a few well established people about already covering the whole spectrum of after market stocks. Everything from free in a lucky bag to several hundred ££££.

It's not going to be a business with a ready made market, you're going to have to work at it. Having said that, the money's out there and they want to spend it so you may as well have it
May be more money in making the actual laminate for diy or stock makers to use ??? I don't know if there's already suppliers making colours to order ?

Not really interested in the laminated business. As said previously JW covers that well so leave that to him. I am interested in those who want real wood. I had another look and all I could find was some one in the US. Not over here.

And yes you could never make a living on that on its own unless...... I have some ideas but who knows, just looking around at the moment.

I'm sure the chap I was speaking to used to make his living from it, until he decided to retire that is. I know a lot of his work came from dealers etc sending broken stocks in for replacement. He used to glue them back together, make up missing bits with car filler, and then copy a new one from it. He said there was good money in replacement shotgun stocks, I suppose it's who you know though to get the good work.

You may be interested to know that Joe West Riflestocks actually make their own laminate blanks.

Didn't know that, but it must be best part of 5 years since I was looking. When I checked I couldn't find anyone that made laminate blanks to order, in colours of choice, or at least made it common knowledge they produced them.
I did have a supply of a suitable ink / dye then, the only hold up was (A), finding a suitable adhesive that I could guarantee would hold together for years, (B) it would be the most incredibly messy job known to man. The adhesive could have been sorted, the brightly coloured epoxy everywhere was just too much (I'm not a clean worker  )

I'm going to give them hell at the weekend at the East Anglian country show (just like I did at the Shooting Show  )
