Aspheric lens and focal spacer sets for 501b

Post by some bloke » 15 Jan 2014, 18:23

I lose track of who has what on here so listing things as I get asked about them helps me keep track.

I have a good stock of Ahorton lens's and my focal spacer sets for the 501b torches. As you can see the spacers are now anodised.

I've got a better bulk price from Ahorton now - so each item is now reduced by £2 to only £8 + add £6 RMSD for any size package

paypal address is; davidgeorge69@btinternet.com

Hi Dave

Bit confused on price of these to convert my 502b Ultrafire since you said on e-bay it was £16 then on HL forum £26 and now on here £14?

So what bits do I need to convert my standard 502b?

Hi Ian, There are two upgrade options - did you enquire about a lens only?
I also offer another type of lens upgrade if you only want to add an aspheric lens to your torch and paint your own reflector to convert it to a focal spacer. I grind off the edges a little to make sure a thinner lens will fit into your torch head. That will be £10 + £6 RMSD. I don't list them separately on ebay so it may have been a misunderstanding on one of our parts about the item(s) being asked about. It suggests I quoted £10 for a lens only + £6 RMSD to get £16? That option is a sort of halfway house in terms of 501b performance upgrade.

EDIT: I got called in to work some overtime earlier so had to cut short my reply.
There is another more complicated issue regarding lenses for the 501b:
China supplies the old genuine 501b, a newer genuine 501b - which has shallower knurling and the same size threads and head I/D, and copies that look the same but have slightly smaller threads and head I/D. All are viable torch bodies that have variable quality internal components. We often don't know what we are going to get in the next batch even from the same vendor. For that reason I use a third lens option but detailing that would only serve to complicate things further.
Suffice it to say that I replace some or all internal components - and use the lens that best suits what I have in stock for the budget priced ones.

The lens and focal set in this thread are a better performing upgrade that require two upgrade components to provide a brighter beam than the half way house option -
and fit all of the head I/D's. The price given on THL will have been the older price for an Ahorton set - Lens £10, focal spacer £10, add £6 RMSD = £26
I have only reduced these in the last 24 hours ish - after being given the better bulk price. Actual RMSD minimum cost is £6.22.

To clarify then.

Lens only upgrade (any aspheric lens):
1 x Lens is now £8
RMSD is £6.
Total for a lens only = £14.

Ahorton lens set upgrade:
1 lens is now £8
1 Spacer is now £8
RMSD is still £6 for any package size.
Total for one Ahorton lens set is now £22.

Buyer pays in a way that I get the full amount please.
