You kind of know when you are seen as a rival when someone 'buys' all your ebay listings, or gets someone else to do it and puts up lying feedback within minutes.
I state in my listings that I won't sell to anyone with less than 98% feedback across at least 20 meaningful items - yet he had zero feedback - and sort of tellingly, i noticed later that he joined about the time I started ebay selling again. I've already had to knock back another who bought with zero feedback and wanted me to send to an unregistered addy. The site is starting to seem very shitty to me.

The bloke wanted to buy an Ir module off me but was evasive about what his rig is. As I make different ones available I wanted to be sure I sell him the right one and asked him a few questions back and if he was on any shooting forums. As he was being evasive I asked him to use his email client rather than keep sending individual messages so I could keep track of the conversion easier. He persisted just using ebay single messages and I started getting uncomfortable about selling to him.

I eventually extracted the fact that he has an ej230 camera and Ahorton lens. (I've had several people tell me they have an Ahorton lens... from DX)
Well that kinda indicates he DOES use a shooting forum but still he declined to come clean about it or use a regular email client. Long story short is I got very suspicious of his evasiveness and told him if he don't use his email I ain't replying to his ebay messages any more - Well he called me a cocky coont (sort of) and that I must jerk off over torches in my shed.

I told him to get lost and I ain't selling to him - so he 'bought' all three then posts up immediate feedback that one is plastic and the other one never arrived.

Trouble is, Dave, it's too easy for a buyer to trash you and apply for a Paypal refund. The onus is on you to prove that the item was exactly as described, but you'll probably still have to pay up.

Ebay ain't what it was. I started on there in 2002 and it used to be a great place for making a couple of quid extra pocket money.

ebay have already been informed but it looks like I have to leave it for a day or two before I can file a non payment claim. If he refuses to cancel the feedback is likely to remain.

I dare say he'll get banned but just come back with a new ID/email to do it again.

Twice I've had this happen Dave, and ebay don't want to know about false feedback !! One bloke bought a quad off me, he drove it round the yard to his hearts content, then drove it up onto a transporter. It must have been running for half an hour. He waited until I gave him good feedback then trashed me saying it didn't run !!!

I now watch him like a hawk, first time he sells on a buy it now it's mine and I'll destroy his feedback completely and claim non delivery.
I know this is wrong, and completely out of order, but he did it to me purely out of spite, there was no need for him to be like this

Ebay is a total night mare for genuine seller like yourself.
Scum bags like that want stringing up.
Keep pushing for ebay to remove the bad feedback.
Idiots like that know exactly what they are doing when they pull a stunt like that.
Make sure you put him on your banned list so he cant buy from you again.
I really hope you get this sorted out.
Also if completed a sale you will have his address and email. If anyone on here is handy with a PC you can track the IP back to its source.
Once you have the persons real ID take the git to small claims for slander and loss of earnings plus any additional costs you have over the next 12 months while the bad feedback has a knock on effect.

You can remove the ebay contact email service so it makes all email contacts personal.
