keeping secrets

Post by sunndog » 22 Feb 2013, 14:12

i was just thinking lads

thiers not many examples of people making some sort of n.v kit and keeping the details secret these days
which is bloody brilliant and only serves to make everyones setup better

for example. take the sunnyDlight evo. now i'v claimed the naming rights to it cos i was first to put it together...nowt wrong with that IMO. lol the names are only a bit of fun after all
but look how it came about.

hartshot found the original torch host
i put an oslon in it (which was down to mark/darren)
and meanwhile on another thread. poppy mea was telling us about the crelant torch's
which i just happened to order out of curiosity

how good is that for a community effort!!

and thats not the only example by any means....keep it up fella's

.....adam

Exactly right, Adam.

That's the beauty of all of you fellas on here, you don't mind putting it out there if it helps others. Hopefully, that's how it'll stay.

So many times, new members have posted to say that it's the friendliest forum they've been on

And knowledge that there is DIY build advice about must surely hep to keep the commericially made prices down.

Even something that has been bltantely copied from here will have a lowering effect on what price it may have fetched if such sites wern't supplying the build details.

yup, how many of us would've bought a nm800 and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, at a reasonable price?

in six months time i fully expect there to be a workable. self contained inline digi addon on here
i know i'v got a working prototype here thats cost me 50 quid all in and is good for 200yrds.......thats a 100yrds short of my goal though

another example. carl moore's drone pro. it was asked how it works with a 940nm led.
carl said it was so poor as to be unusable. i asked what illuminator he tried with it. he dint reply but i'm guessing a pulsar led i.r
i cant imagine it would perform that badly with an oslon black behind a 66mm lens, and said as much on that thread

i wonder if carl's "new" led illuminator has/will be tested with a 940nm oslon?

I joined this forum because I wanted to know more about night vision... To learn, build my own, save money off the retail RIP OFF, to socialise, possibly making friends, because I like hunting... It is only right to be able to give some back to the forum by contributing in whatever possible way!

GIVE and take!
