a unique anime

Mirai Shōnen Konan
Conan The Boy In Future
AKA: Future boy Conan

A Japanese anime series produced by Nippon Animation Studios, telling the story of a post apocalyptic adventure comedy, adapted from the 1970 published novel "The Incredible Tide" by Alexander Hill Key (American science fiction writer. 21 September 1904 — 25 July 1979). The series of 26 episodes was premiered across Japan on the NHK network between April 4 and October 31, 1978.

Character designs:
Hayao Miyazaki / Yasuo Otsuka

Chief animation director:
Yasuo Otsuka

It's something completely different, i'm going to wrap a gift in here for anyone who would give it a shot. It's not entirely unrelated to night vision, as it contains one night vision moment (very sensitive tubed helmet glasses).

The story events takes place in the year 2028, of course many things didn't happen in real life, obviously the earth was not badly ruined by the use of magnetic weapons in 2008 during what's like a WWIII, though the show is absolutely brilliant, no wonder as it was all made by a top team of pioneers in the Japanese animation industry, and based on a novel of a brilliant American writer.

The serious points are the hidden messages, and the exaggeration in contrast between two nations, totally in favour of one against the other, picturing one of them a total evil, just like ever I guess. Also how the writer pictured a lot of the real life scenes of the end of the cold war, 20 years before it happened.

I first watched this cartoon in our region when it was aired in 1987, i was only 6 years old, and like many kids of my generation, we didn't understand the heck what was it talking about at the time, we just laughed at the comedy and were thrillingly excited with the adventures the heroes went through. But the story remained a mystery in my mind I promised myself to discover one day in a second watch, which i remembered to do a week or so ago by coincidence, only to discover that this cartoon was actually a masterpiece, a complete work, definitely one of the best motion pictures I have ever seen.

Here is an AMV (anime music video, apparently!) done by a fan on YouTube, it works great as a trial video.

Here is were i watched the entire series on YouTube in original Japanese with English subtitles (there's no English dubbed version!)

Many fans have put together many romantic AMV's for this show although it is not entirely a romance, but actually they were not wrong to do so because really the powerful innocent love between the two children is what drives the story beyond any possible limits.
All the made AMV's were good, but this one i liked the most, for the well matching between an Egyptian love song and the scenes clips, and the lyrics translation to English subtitles. This AMV really made that beautiful song even more beautiful to me.

The original ending soundtrack "Shiawase no yokan" (Hope of happiness) is absolutely remarkable.

Vocals: Naozumi Kamata and Yuuko Yamaji.

Here, there's a copy with no screen titles and good sound (But! modified to 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, not in its original 4:3 box format)

Here's another copy with English subtitles
(But a bit odd colour and noisy sound)

Here's the full length song copied obviously from the original soundtracks 2 albums

Lyrics (of the short version)

In Romaji (Japanese written in Roman letters)

Kokoro ga konna ni furueru no ha naze
Ryoute ga sora he nobiteyuku no ha naze
Ryouashi ga tsuchi wo kette hashiru no ha naze

Kokoro ha toraeru shiawase no yokan
Ryoute ha tsukamu fukuramiyuku kibou
Ryouashi ha kaketeyuku harukana chihei

Ikiteiru kara ashita ga aru kara
Chikyuu ga mawatteiru kara

In English

Why does my heart tremble so much?
Why do I stretch my hands toward the sky?
Why do my feet kick up the soil and run about?

I get the feeling in my heart that I'll be happy
I hold growing hopes in my hands
My feet run toward the distant horizon

Because I'm alive
Because there's tomorow
Because the earth is spinning

P.S.

All the YouTube videos are just there on YouTube, uploaded by different anonymous people.

The ending song lyrics are as accurate as it gets.

--------------

It was a memory awakening experience for me personally, I could do without, but I had unbelievably countless laughs and entertaining moments, and still have.

Hope watchers enjoy it as much as i did.

You don't know what you missed watching all this animated junk. When I was five or six we had Muffin the Mule (Google it), in black and white on a tiny little screen.
Sheer luxury nowadays.
"Land Rover, the worlds best 4x4 by far"

"Argo, a great 8x8"

Muffin is very nice and suitable for kids. As you see in my age now I'm saying Konan (Conan) is the best i've ever watched, I think I'm a grownup now  , so Konan is definitely more for grownups than for kids.
