Chris, we (Geoff and I) personally sanction or reject any 'would be' new members. We have, literally, hundreds of applications each day, the majority of which are spammers, which we attempt to detect and kick into touch.
So, those 'guests' that you see are a mixture of membership applications. We don't use a 'spammer' application filter of any sort, as we're afraid that those people with unusual user names or email addresses would get turned away. We've done that ourselves before now.

Just what I was thinking Fizz and when you take into account BS99051, the angular phase and bioptic integration of polyethelene, it does make sense
