There's a 4.5-14x44 Multi-X on the Stalking Directory at the moment: http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/s ... 25-mm-tube

I believe it's brand new, and reduced to £170.

I have two of them in mil-dot flavour, three Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 1.75-5x32 and one Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 3-9x50 SF

The little 1.75-5x32 scopes are mind blowing - ultra-clear, pin sharp, and they keep pace with most bigger (and often far more expensive) scopes. The ret on them is super-thin - I've had them up against Leupold and I really rate them.

I found the mil dot 4.5-14x44 a shade behind the multi-x version of the same scope. Could just be my squiffy eyes though...

I find my Nikon Monarchs are better under the lamp but the Legends appear to handle NV better, if that makes sense.

The Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 3-9x50 leaves my Leupold VX2 Euro 3-9x50 for dust at last light, despite the massive price difference...

Again, this may well be subjective - we all know how different eyes get along with different scopes.

Basically I'm a huge fan :)

And there's one just popped up on BBS with box, mounts etc...

Have you had a look at the old model Simmons Aetec range ?

I have a 3.8-12x44 with a plain plex ret and, other than being front PA, it's a tough scope to fault. Very good in low light and reacts well to both NV and lamp. The illuminated ret is a bonus, if you like that sort of thing.

Just a thought...

My bad for not updating this thread :(

I decided to purchase a new 3-9 x 50 Legend HD

Thanks for the leads though.

Have you had a play with it yet? Thoughts?

Well, it's not on a rifle as yet, but, I've checked the picture out in daylight and looking good so far and I've sat a GEN3 add-on behind it on a Cobra DSA. Works well throughout the entire mag range and side-focus does the job just fine.

To be honest, I decided I didn't need big mag for the Hornet (basically out to 175 yards or thereabouts, with charlie as the target) and thought I'd give the 50mm objective a shot, as opposed to the 44mm on the higher mag model.

I've been a huge fan of the old Legend for some time now, and the new model certainly doesn't appear to disappoint.

I'm pleased enough with the 4.5-14 on the .17 hmr that I've ordered another for the .22 magnum. Was thinking of getting the 3-9 x 50 for my .22lr.

Personally I find the Ultra HD range infinitely better to look through than the old Legends, which says a lot.
