Re: Yukon photon old model
I only used mine at HMR ranges so it was fine as standard for me but I'm generally within 100 yards of what I shoot. I've heard of zero issues if the doubler is shifted but I cannot quote from experience.

Re: Yukon photon old model
well i tried it in anger tonight ! and charlie aint now where near as impressed as i am
,i stuck a t20 on an adjustable mount on the side ,its ok out of the box for 120 ish yards for a shot and the t20 needs to be on low power and flood rather than throw or it gets washed out ,it really surprised me at the performance and sensitivity just at last light ! (which is when i do most of my foxing) ,listening to other users i think that a doubler is the next thing to add (plus a mod on the hornet to get rid of some of the flash !!!), but all in im well pleased thanks to all !
Re: Yukon photon old model
Nice one I used mine without the doubler and using the onboard ir before I got the doubler and t20 I totally agree straight out the box dame good for the money
Two and half million made and three quarters of these still on the road, can you say the same about your 4x4

Re: Yukon photon old model
cheers for that guys ! ok i can "just" id a fox at 200 yds going on the last couple of nights conditions and can confidently take a shot at them at 120 yds using the on board ir !what extra would a doubler give me ? i already have a 3 mode t20 and mount for the side ,and which one should i go for a 1.7x or a 2.5 x
and does marky's mount work with both ok ? thanks in advance

Re: Yukon photon old model
The unit is 1.7x mag. The 2.5 confusion bit comes from the old 2.5 x50 nvrs model which they were initially made to fit. On a perfect night, I was able to spot out past 250yds.
Re: Yukon photon old model
Glad to see you got some n.v sorted glyn.....even if you did ignore my advice
get a doubler fitted and its a 200yrd fox tool, on a good night
I also fitted a 850nm I.r filter over the objective lens on mine to cut out the terrible eye bloom I was getting
Oh aye, doublers are all the same dude

Re: Yukon photon old model
S.D no excuses i couldnt wait
!!! and the keeper who's land i do the foxing on was still seeing the odd fox ,although he is a LONG time friend .ive moved into some one elses shoes who was not producing the goods and looking at the waiting time for an xt and then the uncertainty over whether i would get one out of the next batch ! i felt i needed to make a decision quickly .im happy with the quality but if the new one is better as people say ,its great value ! i can always trade up latter on i suppose, had a bit of a look this evening with that bit of moon and its got lots going for it for the price !its a new experience to me with nv and its not just a case of chucking it on and shooting like a normal scope ,it takes a bit of getting used to and driving ! my biggest surprise is the difference to shooting just at last light ! its another world ,
Re: Yukon photon old model
at least your off the blocks eh mate. The mk1 photon is perfectly usable and I know what its like when there's a perm waiting to be shot
