hopefully a while before any grand kids turn up, my two lads are 15 and 6[/quote]
Yes its the low maintenance style , just a quick rub over with the flannel and youre good to go
perhaps it's better Iceberg died Adam, it would have been doomed to failure anyhow. I can't think of one engine that's been successfully converted to diesel. If you think back to the days when it was being done Perkins themselves, the brains in this case, built crap engines. They were whacking great lumps of cast iron that wouldn't start and were gutless when they did. it wasn't just perky though if you think back, BMC made a few that were just as bad, the Ford York was only fit as a boat anchor.sunndog wrote:yep, thats it....i couldn't remember meself last nightrodp wrote:Thinking about it now I think production started in mid to late 47 to get stock ready for early 48 (easter?) motor show.
the trouble with land rover is that they've alway been screwed by whatever parent company owned them at the time
landys have always sold well, so the parent company used them like a cash cow. LR have one of the best R&D departments in the industry
but there was never any cash spare to build what they designed (*project iceberg for one) or do the job properly
the S3 should never have exsisted. when the S3 was released should have been the first coil sprung utility land rovers
*one for the land rover anoracks
