christened the new toy

Post by 22-250jock » 21 Dec 2013, 07:53

Christmas came early yesterday :D

my archer finally arrived yesterday morning..................sods law, the mrs was out, so it was returned to the post office......... :(

.any way bless her little cotton socks, she gets in from picking the youngest up from school and pops along there just before it closed, so it was sat on the table when I got in from work

now after being rained off 3 times already this week, I didn't have time to faff about moving the scope forward etc, so it was just slapped on there, which only took ten minutes...........quick bit of grub down my neck...........then the boy and me were out the door like a pair of scalded cats

now my mate has a 'C' grade, this is a 'D', so I was expecting a few spots............ tbh I had to look real hard to find any.......two tiny tiny tiny spots on the very edge of the picture, you just barely see them if you search for them:thumbup:

so with the rain due by 9 we had a quick ride round on the polaris, out for three hours and didn't see bugger all, until we were thinking of giving up..............then a quick flash of eyes and this fella was right out in the middle of the field..............didn't stand a chance to be honest

180 yrds with the 22-250,

now just need to move the scope forward and add the extra but spacer, job done

so managed to christen it on its first outing.............one happy bunny :D

cheers jock

I can completely understand the excitment when something new turns up. Men will always be boys hey :-)

Good shooting mate just a shame we won't get to see any footage :-(

Nice going mate, which archer did you go for? And how do you find it on the front of the scope? What scope you put it on?

Cheers Gaz

hi Gaz

went for a 'D' grade, was originally going to go for a 'C' but Julian said there would be little, if no difference. compared it to my mates 'C' on Friday night and he was right(if anything, to my mates disgust it better than his)
fitted to my sightron S111 8-32x56, lovely clear picture and the side focus works perfectly

just need to move the scope forward a tad now and add a 40mm spacer to the AI stock and it should be sorted

cheers jock
