If your in such a bad way then how do you manage to get out with your air rifle?? your not saying you only get out when your off your nut on opiates surely :wtf:
This is one of the best most helpful forums ive ever come accross and for you to soil its name along with its members is bad form. blaming your health and medication is a piss poor excuse.

Edited to add:
You were offered help by a member in your local area, if you didnt take it then thats your own fault!

I started reading all the posts to this threads and could not wait to get to the end to say exactly what was in the post above. If your health is so bad s you say. Why would you need the illuminator in the first place.

He may find it hard to believe but all the people that have made posts on their own home builds. No one knocked on their door nor sent them an email to tell them how to do it. They did this through their own trials and errors. Then along comes your average Joe, that does not have the savvy to do so himself and is more or less demanding to know this information.
This is the only forum, I post on. I can not be arssed with all the bitching you get on forums. You get guys that are in the sport for a few years and are telling you how you should be doing it. I know people that have their DSC level two. Yet they ask me how to do this or do that when Gralloching. Ask them what the names of the glands are and they have no clue. I do not have a level 2, as I seen no reason to have it. I was stalking on private land and do not need a piece of paper, so that I can rent from the Forestry commission, a plantation that is lamped at night and shot by contractors during the day.

I have apologised for my earlier post on another forum and have given my reason for it. For some that would appear to be enough and for others it is not, all I ask is for this to be put behind me and I be allowed to rebuild your trust and acceptance. For those who doubt my pain I can in no way prove how much pain I am in after a short time moving. If any of you are also members of The Hunting Life Forum or the Air Arm Owners Club and go to there "meets" you may first hand see how I am affected. Although I would love to be pain free again and maybe after the operation I will be, but as the saying goes "I wouldn't wish this on even my worst enemy".
With regards to the kind offer from the member from Oxford, I forgot all about it. I will be contacting the member to see if the kind offer still stands, although if it is not I understand.

Meh. My back is held together with titanium screws. Bone through the spinal cord. Crushed discs, shattered vertebra, bulged discs, crushed nerve roots, wonky pelvis. Six months on opiates, did not shoot during that period due to respect for the safety of others. About all I could do during that time was lie in bed and post on forums. Politely. 18 months before I could walk a permission, that required 3500 milligrams of paracetamol for a two hour walk, with another shooter to make sure I was OK. Two & a half years before I could work regularly, and walk a permission without pain killers.
Used to be on the national practical pistol team, I'll never get back there. Running is out, going prone is difficult and lets not discuss permanent nerve damage and its effects on the pelvic area.

So I do understand pain. But I don't use it as an excuse for antisocial behavior, beyond not going out with friends if I know I'll be a grumpy git and bring them down.
I wish you well, and hope you do heal. I suggest though that in the future, if you put your foot in it and realize that you have, just man up, accept you were wrong and apologize. When someone justifies their behavior "I'm sorry, but..." Most people only hear the "but..." and substitute "prat" or "troll".

I've only told my story so you can see I'm not joining in the game of "Whack-a-mole" but to make clear that a) I do understand your reason and b) its best if you don't use it.
I suggest you quit this thread, it'll die naturally if you stop popping your head up. Try posting something constructive a few times and see if peoples attitude towards you starts to change.

Wow.

You have been through the wars my friend. Great to hear that you have come through it and are able to still go hunting. Some very good information in your post that should be observed.

Man you have been through it, and it is nice to read that you are out the other end. Here is wishing you stay healthy.

Thank you both for your kind words. I understand you both have health issues and I hope life improves for both of you. Now forget I posted any of the above personal info. That way I'll just be another grumpy git with a strange sense of humour. I should fit right in.

Right chaps, we have all had a say and it is gone on for long enough.
Time to return to the important things before we get bored.
