Re: Pulsar Quantum HD38
Thanks for your interest Mini Magnum it is very nice to see good folk are trying to help.
On switch on the screen is all sepia coloured like an old victorian photo with no definition, on pressing the calibration button the calibration sign comes on the screen but there is no improvement in the display.I have spoken to another member of this forum( who has been most helpful and has pointed me in the right direction ,I hope) who thinks that this is quite a common fault, that the shutter sticks or the servo motor is faulty. If that is the fault fixing it with my limited knowledge could be problematic. With all the help that I have recieved from members of this forum I dont think that the problem is unsurmountable.
Thanks to you all
Malcom

Its good to see but not surprised members helping and I am sure that you will get this matter sorted, perhaps a member clued up on this issue could do it for you , but of course would have to be posted due to current conditions , but I am a little surprised the seller has not been in touch as the members on here are not like that but give it time
Re: Pulsar Quantum HD38
The hd38s has a shutter not the hd38 .I have an hd38 , I have to cover the lens then hit the calibrate button , leaving the lens covered until calibration completes

Well, I never knew that.... thanks for posting MH.
Unfortunately, that makes it sound like there’s no servo in there to replace.

Yes the HD38 did not have the auto calibrate function until the later HD38S was released with this function and also a £1000 price drop. The original HD38 was £4000
I can remember using Pesca (George) of here's HD38 alongside an older Guide model years back...

Try as mad hatter quotes, closing the front lens cap when calibrating to check for an improvement..Mini Magnum wrote: ↑24 Jan 2021, 22:21Yes the HD38 did not have the auto calibrate function until the later HD38S was released with this function and also a £1000 price drop. The seller is also a member on UKV, I posted that Malcom was trying to contact him here on one of his post but dont know if he has got in contact, have to add this is not a witch hunt , just need his input on the subject, but with a bit of luck MH idea might work
