Flood lights
Is it possible to put an ir torch on flood, attach it to a bipod / tripod and shine towards the shooting area in general.maybe angle it to get max coverage, maybe use 2 good torches.and then just shoot without using an ir torch on your scope ? Sub 12ft lb air rifle in a yard or barn..?
Easy to see
Re: Easy to see
Yes, using torches is more flexible but using mains power units otherwise better. They're made for CCTV cameras and such.
You might want to play with installation height to create shadows, since they're many times easier to spot than animals. Also if you're out with centerfire and buddy, in bad conditions like fog it's very beneficial to get few meters between shooter and torch. E.g. put the torch on thermal spotter and let your buddy illuminate the target few meters from your side. This would of course be spot type beam.
