Wanted - Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15x56 swap

Post by some bloke » 29 Oct 2019, 02:07

I'm looking for a very decent foxing scope to use in daylight, lamping and night vision that I can put to good use on my 17REM.

In case anyone thinks I'm crazy to offer both of these E700 camera based rigs for a used Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15x56 scope, note these are unused unsold stock to me and I still have just enough components left to build replacements in my retirement. 8-)

Read more about both rigs in these links.

The QwikFit add-on: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16309

The spotter: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19892

I'm posting this wanted ad in other places so don't think about it for too long if you have what I want.

OK, here's an extra little sweetener - one of my magnetic pan/tilt bases, of course you might want the base unit on the roof but the monitor in the truck which is no problemo.

This handle can be supplied instead of the pistol grip if preferred:

It's better if the handle is removed from between the magmount and the spotter like in this video:

A used Sightron S-TAC 2.5-17.5x56 with 4a ret and capped turrets would also work for me.

I Would not recommend that version of the S-Tac, the central remote dot is very large.

Oh - OK thanks, I hadn't heard about that aspect. I'm unlikely to use it beyond 250 yards for bunny or fox.

Anyone else offer their thoughts on this aspect please?

I have to say I'm a bit confused about the remote dot being very large after a bit of a Google about the retical.

I found a few comments on various forums about the crosshair being a bit too thin for some users, and the red dot in some photos of the retical shows the dot at about the same diameter as the thickness of the cross, but not a floating dot.

Could it be there are two versions of the 4a, or that the red dot gets bulkier as its made brighter?

It's not too large, it looks like it might be a problem shooting smaller vermin with the dot when you first look through the scope, but it's not, BUT I have to say i tried shooting a target with the s tac on my mates rifle recently and thought it was a horrible picture, just could not get a nice clear veiw, i was expecting it to be really good, but did not like it at all.

Thanks Bob, I think I need to hear more opinions on this scope now. Is that a 2.5-17.5x56? I've only seen great comments about them.

I have an S_TAC 4-20x50 that's not giving me satisfaction on the 17REM ATM - one of the reasons I currently rarely use it but the boy is getting into targets shooting so I'm looking to upgrade.

No probs mate, yep his is the 56mm, and i thought from what I'd heard about the scope it would be good, the sun was high in front of us and that may have had a bit to do with clarity but a good scope should handle that , maybe it just didn't suit my eyes but i was very disappointed ,also everything I tried turning was as tight as hell.
I didn't tell my mate what I thought so keep it to yourself
