I certainly can do and hopefully will for a few more years yet before I peg it. I'm only 67 years old.

The reason I'm retiring from making them is the mould for my boxes is well worn out - and the moulder requires I order 50+ batches. I can't justify spending and sitting on a wad of my pension for another batch.

Also, the guy who does my machining tells me three days turnaround for a batch of 20+ (more of my pension tied up) but takes up to three months before I badger him then gets them done in about another three weeks if I'm lucky. He was danged cheap though which is why he was always so busy.

Then - just as I was thinking about packing it in for the above reasons, along came PARD with some very nice looking high investment moderate range beginners gear (in my opinion - which is also the main budget market) at very good prices and the decision became a lot easier and proved to be very prudent because PARD has definitely become the new black for the bulk market.

Fortunately for me the PARD spotters only have a 25mm lens that cannot be swapped for a larger one and a good few people like a bit more zoom. Also the longer range performance of SURE24 E700 cameras CCD sensors is better at collecting low light than HD CMOS sensors, and I have to say the magmount base of my Tactical spotters is extremely handy for shooters with a sunroof.

So if anyone is worried I may not be able to service them - I should be around this forum and available to service for several years yet. I will generally not have any prebuilt rigs available as I don't want to tie up funds in cameras/lenses etc so may need 7 to 10 days ish to complete a confirmed (prepaid) order.

Silicone sealant... sticks like shit to a blanket if left to air cure for a day or so and comes apart with a decisive purposeful effort but takes a bit of cleaning off if you want to reuse a component somewhere else.

I also use hot melt glue to quickly fix the battery holders and cabling.

Dave, I purchased one of your hand held spotters off a member on the forum, for a disabled chap, but when it came by post the camera was rolling about in the box and the battery holder was not held down with glue. I tried pushing the camera back into where the lens is and managed to put some batts in to see if it would work, yes it turned on, but I could not get this to focus, its one where you have to use an external IR and has a adjustable camera lens, but was like looking through mist. Could you have a look at it, if I sent it to you and try to get it fixed. Thanks David.

Should be OK, send me a photo of front and back or a short video showing front and back first please so I can check what spec it is. If you use one of those shit couriers like yodel etc it'll possibly get dropped over the gate and land on slabs, then the dog will have at it, best use RMSD please - or nip over with it, I'm on your side of Leicester city boundary.

I can't find any details of him buying a spotter mate - only a Kwikfit add on rig. :o

My records aren't brilliant but it really would seem a good idea to send me at least one photo just to be sure we don't have our wires crossed.

I'll PM you my email address and postal address in a mo.
