NVUK?

Post by some bloke » 14 Feb 2017, 18:35

Anyone here on the NVUK group please take a look at a video someone is running with one of Pete's spotters - in a daytime prelude to a night video.

I see the video is jumping when he pans on my PC but Pete says it must be my internet connection because it doesn't jump for him or someone else. A lot of new guys in that group won't know whats going on and I'd like to know if it's just me being pedantic.

It seems very strange that an E700 camera video would jump like that - especially in good daylight.

Yes, very jerky when panning, annoyingly so.

Thanks Rod - thought it might have been me being too fussy - possibly seeing it through rival's eye's. But I try to be fair about competing gear.

I did a broadband speed check earlier and first attempt failed to connect, second attempt got 49mbs. I do sometimes get crap performance on ebay - and here. lol.

So I suggested that it was possibly your internet connection as your now using some other computer as your other two have packed up and you agreed that you'd firstly lost connection and then slower speed. I also messaged you personally about it later and said someone else had messaged me from this forum saying the same. Why do you take it upon yourself to bring it here when in that thread there were plenty of reputable people that couldn't see the same issue you did? You seem to he suggesting firstly that the camera wasn't an e700 due to your comments and secondly that all those that replied know nothing ... your always incredibly happy when your making sales posts in group but dam slow on offering much help other than around your products e.g. shrouds for glare etc you didn't make much constructive comments about the video either apart from suggesting the user reset the camera as you suggested "sense up" was too high. Unless I'm wrong the e700 doesn't have that setting but does have gain which was at default too.

Seems your comment was about belittling either myself or the group members knowledge too from your comments here. Said my piece now but shouldn't have had to come in here to say it.

Not wishing to get involved in a bun fight but...

To me it looks like it's dropping frames, possibly before it gets to the recorder as the frame counter speed seems even.

It might be a bandwidth problem or frame rate mismatch between the camera and recorder as it only seems to happen when panning which is when all of the information in the image changes with each frame.

I expect the live view on the device is fine though.

Cheers

I think you've read it wrong again Pete. Dunno what I've done to you but you've got a bit bullish with me lately using the editing power of your group: Like when you queried why a potential buyer would want to buy a torch shroud - and offered to draw me a picture about how light goes in straight lines - before quickly deleting the entire thread that was started by a member asking about them because it wasn't going your way. I said nothing else on the matter out of courtesy. That wasn't too bad on its own but it occurred soon after a fairly long running sale thread about them got removed prior to that. I think its fair to say we are both perhaps falling prone to a bit of subconscious rivalry.

Sure I had PC issues - but your initial denying it was jumping got my back up a tad. However I gave you the benefit of the doubt and rubbished my own PC on your thread rather than persist and cause an issue on your group.

Your comments about the night time follow up suggest you are interested in honest facts about night vision videos - but you (couldn't at the time) accept I'd seen an issue with the earlier one: That issue could have caused you embarrassment for the later one if you had not been made aware of it - the initial advice was done to help. The later video in the dark had much less jumping so I assume the advice had been addressed. I was pleased I may have helped.

TBH I felt a bit ganged up on and wanted to check if anyone on here could see what you initially, and others subsequently, were saying wasn't happening for them. This thread was posted well before you indicated someone else had seen the issue.

I watched the daytime video on my brothers computer after I took two computers up to him to get fixed. My back up couldn't be used at all because there was no graphics of any kind. His computer is a high end one with a much better connection speed than mine - same juddering was there for his eyes and mine.

I never implied the camera wasn't an E700: I didn't know what was in the spotter but gain and sense up amount to similar things so it covered all angles.

Cheers Clive I didn't realise you were in our group? It wasn't meant to be a bun fight but I find it astonishing that the video is on a group of nearly 12k members that anyone of them would have answered honestly as I did in messaging David to say someone else saw similar but that he has to bring it to another group where the video isn't posted to ask opinions.

I certainly didn't want to cause ripples here but it seems the only time I pop in group it's for similar things :-(

Oh actually are the B.S 2 available separately not in a bundle?

Kind Regards Pete

Bullish... bullied.. the responses were from other members.. I won't respond back here as it isn't fair to bring issues into here ..

Kind Regards Pete

Pete, I've no axe to grind and my post stands. Very jerky when I viewed it, and I DO have good internet connection. I don't know what camera is in it, don't even know who's unit it is, but compared to the units I've used it wasn't good. If it was one of yours then I assume a problem as your gear has a decent reputation
