Copy and paste of the regular scopeless tube prices because I can't find an actual sales listing for them.

I have revised my threaded tubes - which retain the usual thread for the C mount lens at the front.

Added is another internal thread at the rear to take a supplied bored out brass bush to simplify securing an enclosure to it - with only the head of the bush taking up space inside.

In addition there are now three grub screws around the forwards part of the tube to allow the camera to be 'steered' a little inside the tube to help centralise the crosshair rather than using shims.

The revised tubes are £34.

As you will have to wait a few days for me to retrieve the tap and buy the bushes I'll do them at £30 each for Boxing day orders.

To expedite matters and minimise PM's I'll leave my paypal account up for today. Please add 4% if not paying as a friend. - and you need to PM me your postal addies.

As the add on spotter is only a few quid more than the dedicated spotter, would i be just as well to get the add on spotter, or is it nor suitable for spotter short range? Thanks

Morning Dave, one of my friends loves the spotter I bought off you and is going to have ago at making one, I have two e700 cameras here and two monitors that I bought from sure a while ago. So with that in mind can you give me a price in total posted for two handles, two monitor boxes, and two m42 adaptors, and any advise on a lense for max distance.
Regards Andrew

Hi Andrew, thanks for the nice feedback.

Lets break the items down
2 solid machined handles = £20
2 custom moulded boxes = £48
2 M42 thread adaptors = £60

£128 less 10% rounded down to £115 + £8 RMSD = £123 posted OK?

I'd be wary about 'max distance' spotting because the larger quarry detail you want to see the less field of vision you get to see it in. I don't recall what lens yours was, could you remind me please? Would you like it to differ from what you have and if so in what way?

I have one with pentacon auto 1.8/50 multi coating, it's great to be honest, we was out the other night and was watching 3 woodcock through the add on I had off you at around 6x mag clear as a bell, we couldn't see it through the spotter only eye shine, so for that reason really, it was a pleasure to watch them doing their thing in the dark.

All I can offer is that using a longer lens will get you a larger image of any quarry in better detail - but at the expense of missing something moving by not spotting as large an area, and doing as you did with the rifle.

The author of this thread knows way more than I will ever know about lenses, fluff up a cushion.

Cracking thread that!! Loads of useful info.

Loads of info in there and relevant to the Photon Xtreme conversions too!

Can we make it a 'sticky' ?

Cheers
