Photon XT 6.5x50 bundle with 1.7x doubler

Post by cliveward » 21 Oct 2015, 12:10

Hi All,

We have just 2 or 3 (depending if I keep one for myself) of the older style Photon XT 6.5x50 that have the thread to accept the standard doubler. The newer ones have an extended locking ring glued in place to prevent fitting a doubler.

So just for members here, we are offering the older style with objective thread, along with the matching Yukon 1.7x doubler for £470 delivered.

A T50 is a good match for the 11x mag this combo gives and a B501 really gets out there! 8-)

Cheers

If you fit a 'doubler' lens you are voiding your warranty.

Complete nonsense.

The only reason for the silly scaremongering about warranty and subsequent re-engineering of the locking ring is to stop a very cheap product being able (by adding their standard doubler) to compete with their far more expensive products.

Maybe you wernt sent the email from Beltex optics along with all the other vendors, but i have a copy of it and it clearly states what ive said,no silly scaremongering intended and definitely NOT complete nonsense,i know plenty of people who have fitted doubler lenses of all kinds to all of the models of photon from day 1,and none have had a problem, but they havnt tried returning them either.I was just issuing a warning as you are selling the doublers for use with them and you shouldnt be.Might i suggest you try to get a copy of the email as it could cause some problems for you, mine is a copy that was sent to Thomas Jacks re Scott Country on June 04 2015.

It was a point of FACT i was stating,by fitting one you void your warranty full stop. For someone to be openly advertising the doublers to go with the photon could work out costly for either the seller or the customer (should a problem arise).I understood the emails were sent to all of the 'official vendors',perhaps the seller isnt one?... but either way,i was just warning everyone concerned. How they can tell is anyones guess, maybe if the thread used looks tampered with?,but i am just guessing.

Ah, OK, So technically you void the warranty, but in fact unless you told them they would never know, and could never prove it even if they suspected
You do have a point I'll admit, but I suppose in this case it's hardly a problem and not worth bothering about

Hi All,

It's quite amusing having someone else who seems to be closely involved in the trade telling us what warranty we can or can't offer for the items we sell.

I don't think us selling a couple of these at a discount price as a service to the members on here is going to put whichever retailer you are involved with in any jeopardy.

Our customers warranty is with us, not a sub contract manufacturer in Belarus.

Anyway, to get back on track after the spectacular interference...

Anyone want to buy a cheap Photon XT with doubler? Probably your last chance ever.

there you go again trying to be insulting  ,i dont know what the problem is...i was warning the members for their benefit and for yours (as you dont even seem to know the ruling on returns of an item you are selling) i am in no way involved with any of "the trade" as you put it,and stand to gain nothing by passing on a quite important fact to the members here about the warranty some of them have obviously voided, you seem to have been offended at the mere fact of not knowing what you are talking about (your huge ego has been dented i think),and are trying to insult me in some little school-boy fashion  .You can sell whatever you like how ever you like, and they can buy it and do whatever they like to it...but it wont change the ruling on the warranty being voided (you know...the silly scaremongering one  ),so you wont be able to get a refund on any that are sent back.I am not involved with any retailer so you are wrong again, and i was not telling anyone what warranty they can offer.I was merely stating a fact that you obviously knew nothing about.
