Quite true, but vehicle body building gets very involved when it comes to dimensions. And VOSA take no prisoners !!!
Some years ago ( a lot) when sliders became relatively popular we started building them. If the conversion was to be done on a new trailer then it had to go for test first to get plated, then it was modified. Reason being was that if the trailer went for first test with a slider fitted it was over width, if it went after first test then the slider was classed as removable and allowed to be a few inches over, as it was classed as a load.

Don't mess with VOSA, they'll chew you up and spit you out. :shock:

It sounds like if you gat a response from vosa then get it in writing so if you do ever get stopped you have something to show.
