I have a spare lense kit for use on any 30mm or 37mm thread objectives. Its not an original lense for a PVS but brand new boxed and very good japanese glass. The lense is actually a 4x lense but when I compared it to the PVS original x3 lense it appears to be slghtly less mag when used in this application apx 2.5 x mag. The image was as clear as the original just slightly smaller. Looking for £150 posted RMSD

I've used one of these an would agree they are definately not 4x I thought it was more like 3x but they do give a much bigger fov that the mil spec 3x and they are still good for light transmission

Agree n ot 4x when used in this application. Would say 3x but compared to the milspec 3x units it does seem a little less mag so dont want to mislead anyone.

I think it's just the bigger fov that make stuff look smaller in the overall sight picture but like you say 2.5-3 x mag and just what's needed for spotting
