It seems my 2.5" dvr has thrown a wobbly. I've contacted the Chinese manufacturer to enquire what can be done about a key that has appeared on the screen and won't let me record or even enter the menu.

Who has what laying around not being used?

Hey - I gots one of they too, thanks for the offer.

I got a reply back from the manufacturer who said to move the lock switch to unlock - which of course I had done several times with no change. Once he'd told me that I sort of felt for the outer slider actually moving a switch and it seemed to slide too freely.

Well a quick cover off and I found one of the legs of the slider that should have been able to move the real switch inside both ways had broken off and slides the switch to the locked position but not back from it. Well the dummy switch is in the bin now and I'll bung something over the hole it came out of.

Jobs a good un again.

It's one of these BTW, you can see the lock slider culprit. They will swap the near useless (for us) camera for an external camera av in lead if asked:
