They are brighter and have a tighter beam due to their smaller point source behind an aspheric lens. As the elements of the LED are much finer than the thick Oslon Black 'bar' these can be focused very tight with only minimal shadows. They are slightly less powerful than the Oslon Black SFH 4725S, and are now suited to all rimfire ranges. They still only draw 700ma - so have better run times that the Oslon too.
The standard reflector has lathe modifications prior to removing the reflective surface and spraying them black. These have a budget aspheric lens that I sometimes have to slightly grind the edges of to fit into the head - so they may have small chips around the fitting lip that do not affect the light collimating effect, and are not seen when the torch is assembled.
As you can see it sits very nicely onto the Photon accessory rail mount with a 25mm low weaver scope mount. To be used only with an 18650 battery.

And you can now expect it to perform better than this: The first rabbit is about 60 yards away, note you can see much further beyond it - and also note the pellet and brain matter exit as the strike is completed. I don't say that to be gory in any way, I'm pointing out the clarity that the IR can reveal even when the Photon was not as well focused as well as we now know it could have been.

I also supply a more powerful one with better lens and focal spacer with an Oslon Black IR LED inside for rear add-on rigs at rimfire ranges for £45 (as shown across the top of my signature picture.
