£20 ultrasonic cleaner

Post by paulham » 12 Dec 2013, 18:57

Not mine, but they are selling them in lidl. This is more of a heads up.

I used one to clean brass and rifle parts, good value.

Thought you had to use a special liquid with them

The water warms up after bring used for a few mins.

I use a mix of water/white vinegar and a couple of drops of washing up liquid for cleaning brass.

Just don't put your lee chamfer tools in with the brass and the mixture as a chemical reaction happens and the brass turns a funny pinky colour

the special liquid is just a ultrasonic cleaning fluid, but as the man above says you can use other things too.

but the problem with HOT water is it gets hotter than the thermostat that controls the cleaner and it blows the circuit board,

then all you have is a tub fit for the bin,
