has anyone got a spare oslon 850 on a 16mm star they are willing to sell,

need a replacement for the one I just dropped and smashed the dome off

hi jock iv got one in packet from ledtech iv measured it and it 15mm across I presume its classed as a 16mm it he if you want it pm me yr addres and il send you it

How about an experiment with your misfortune: pick the dome off if it will come off or soak in some gasoline for a while if it won't come off, and power it up? I've read on de-doming the white LED's, it's supposed to give more light power.

hi mike,

when I dropped the pill..................sod's law, it landed led side down.

on closer inspection there was only a small piece of dome left attached ....... so pried it off with a craft knife and thought i'd try it to see if it still worked....

well, it worked for about 10 seconds........really bright, then just went really dim.............could only just see a faint glow when viewed through the watec


note to self!! don't drop any more pills on a tiled floor

I just thought with the lemon you now had, you might be able to make some lemonade!
Never read of it being tried with IR led, only high powered Cree's and such.
