Mag mount 7" monitor truck spotter.

Video shows a Suction Roof Spotter, but its now being modified with a mag mount base (not shown).

The camera transmitter unit is rechargeable and sends the image via radio signal to the 7" monitor inside the cab - making it a cable-less connection. There is a cigar lighter power supply as the internal batteries in the monitor don't last very long. The battery in the camera unit should be good for about 5 hours continuous on. The Field of View from the 50mm F1'8 lens is consistent with about 3x scope mag. Other M42 thread lenses can be fitted by the user if required.

It has a solidly fitted mini weaver rail on the lower right side near its power switch for the user to fit his own IR torch - which will become it's pan and tilt + torch 'adjusting handle' when reaching up out the driver side window or sun roof. The IR torch should have a fairly wide zoom - so LED types are better suited than laser torches.

Made to use up some remaining stock parts (some repurposed/used) and I never sell or warrant anything rechargeable so this is sold as used with no warranty.

£270 collected or £285 posted RMSD to UK. Can be trialled at an East Leicester city border golf course any dark night without obligation to buy.

Well the magnet finally turned up and I naively plonked it on the freezer door to see how it holds... with little to grab hold of I had to use two hands to slide it over the edge of the door to release it. Look carefully and you'll see the imprint of 12 neodymium magnets around the base.

A bit of hobby lathe work and part of a heavy duty suction mount and upgraded stainless pivot ball stud adapts it quite nicely.

I think this clip shows how well some mag mounts can hold to a steel panel better than if it were shown on an actual car roof, in fact a mildly curved roof panel would make removal slightly easier. :D

If it dries up later I'll probably get some roof mount and possibly field footage done.
