Edit time caught me out .... <snip> they could separate the reticule so that this wobbled about with the barrels movement and the picture stayed nice and stable ??
What it could be used to do is turn on and off various functions unless certain charateristics were met ... if it's over 60 degrees from horizontal it could turn off the screen and illumunator (for example) if there was no movement after a given time period it could go into a power-saving mode to be reawoken if you moved ...

This inclusion opens up a whole raft of software imporovement IMO.

Thanks I've put my pre ordered in  I'm planning to pick up a ir illuminator to use with it. Can anyone suggest a good illuminator? It's for my sub 12 rifle so up to 40ish yards would be perfect.

For that range, the onboard IR illuminator will be more than good enough - no additional IR needed.

Has anyone seen the screen on this Plus model?. If so how does it compare to the old 800 x 600 screen?.

It won't be worse, just a matter of exactly how much better.
Some will see a big difference, others not so much.

I guess we will shortly see a firmware update for the Plus to make use of the gyro.

If anyone gets hold of one let me know what the screen is like.

I think the screen is, by far, the bigger deal.
The Gyro is a bit of a gimmick.
I've tested the PARD SA thermal scope and it has the gyro which gives compass heading, pitch and roll.
None of the angle indicators have sufficient resolution to make you want to change your point of aim.
Fortunately it can be switched off in the menu so they don't clutter up the display.

Are the mounts of the new ones the same as the originals?
