I don't think there was a dioptre problem with the 008.
The problem was with the NV019 spotter.

hello, i did wonder that like you kev, looking at the SA specs it helps you to keep the unit level on using or such like, why do you need all these fancy add ons when like me prefer a night scope without any, just a decent I/R/ good clear screen and a few different reticles/ and fitted with a dovetail mount

Most of us think that this is a gyroscope
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyroscope
But this is also a gyrscope
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyroscope
Obviously, it's the second one that is inside the new PARD NV008
It is used to display of compass heading, pitch (angle up or down) and cant (angle off level)
What the benefits of those "features" are, I'm not sure.
The PARD SA series thermal scopes have this feature and the best thing about it is that it can be turned off
Cheers

haha - me too
If you want to see what the gyro does there is also one in your phone. To 'view' the output goto Play Store and download 'SENSOR Kinetics'
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... s&hl=en_GB - the PRO version (@ £1.90) is well worth it.
This chip is also used in varoius drones and their camera gimbals. The phone versions are pretty good (as you will see if you get the software) and the proffesional ones are just amazing. In reality it would be possible to use thier output to provide image stabilisation, however on a gun sight that would be somewhat counterintuative, unless they could separate the reticule so that this wobbled about with the barrels movement and the picture stayed nice and stable ??
