I’m fed up to the back teeth having to readjust my torch/ir mount. Anyone got a Burris signature zee ring they want to part with, new or used.

I've been using one, they are a pain in the rear to fit which is OK if its going to be a permanent attachment on a permanent rail.

Otherwise it needs to be fitted and adjusted with a torx driver and the bolt that passes through the rail slot has to be fully removed each time before you can slide the mount along the rail to remove it rather than just lift it away.

Next time you use it you'll likely need to use a flat blade screwdriver to prize it wide enough again to fit over another rail unless that rail is narrower because the clamping action actually bends the metal rail clamping part that carries its 'V' If that is done often enough the metal is likely to fracture.

Then it needs to be well slacked off to swivel the torch, then the top part moves rather than let the inserts slip unless you loosen it even more.

These more expensive Laserluchs one's are better because they have a lift away QD type side clamp and hand tightened screw clamp.

Hi sb, interesting read. Actually thinking a permanent fixture would be better, less chance of it moving - possibly. Did look at the laserluchs but being a Scot, the price made me take a deep breath

If its defo a permanent fixture I have to say the Burris looks more discrete or professional. But remember it makes a bigger lump to fit in a gun bag etc.

I forgot to mention that I now use a QD lever release scope mount (from Ant Supplies) on my DE so it goes back on exactly the same every time. You may have to initially faf about with rotating the torch body in the mount, and possibly shim with a bit of insulating tape, but once aligned (on full spot) with the xhair its bang on every time.
