If you want one with a bit more zoom check out some of mine that have 50mm lenses. 50mm lenses in front of a 1/3rd CCD equate to about 3.5 mag if you were looking through a scope.

I have some cheap one's on clearance sale here, ideal if you have a spare illuminator torch laying about:

Received the spotter promptly from CRS. First thing to note is that the screen is not colour during day use. I made CRS aware of this and they undertook to change the description on their site.
The spotter is very compact. It has a single battery compartment at top for the IR and one in the handle for the camera/screen. The screen is very clear and the camera draws in a lot of light. The IR is only needed beyond dusk when things start to get dark. The image, although clear, is small due to the fixed 25mm lens. Identification at 200 yards, imo, is difficult. The clarity is there, but the lack of magnification (no zoom) makes identification beyond 150 yards a bit of a struggle. The IR is more than adequate. It is adjustable up and down and side to side. It also adjusts from flood to spot by moving in and out. It feels to me that it could become quite loose after a lot of use, but it is fine for now.
The 25mm lens gives a wide field of view and this is a very good little spotter for scanning open areas and for identitying up to 150 yards. Eye shine will show beyond this range, but the image is very small and you'll have to carry your specs if you are to pick up on this.
Overall this is a useful and comact little unit. The screen is very clear and the IR is more than adequate for the ranges the 25mm lens allows.
