Doesn't this have to be face to face with someone who has a slot for a centre fire moderator on their FAC or through an RFD?

yep and it has to go on his ticket who bought it..unless its off ticket..

I might be wrong, but I think that if it's an air rifle moderator then it can be posted person to person,(I've done this with a sub 12ftlb air rifle) but not from a dealer directly to a person.
Just to complicate matters further, if the person buying the moderator happens to live in Scotland, the seller will need to satisfy himself that the buyer has a current Air Weapons Licence.

an off ticket MOD can be posted no problems to the buyer , a MOD on ticket as mentioned to a RFD or face to face

yes thats right as my DM80 Mod is also off Ticket and was posted to me no problems at all
