the l808 is £180
the new L808s is £110
and my mate at the shop said there are the same ''they are not'' hmm we will make a new variant and lower the price by a third

If you want an l808 i would get one sooner rather than later.
New laws about eye safe lasers have come into force in the states which means Thomas Jacks can not sell the l808 any more they import for the other sellers in its currant format. it has been changed to the 808s.
s meaning eyesafe, whats left in the old state is what is left there are no more once sold they are gone
The manufacturer have had to add a filters to there lasers which makes them comply with new laser laws
also the laser is now a class lower than it was. by using a differant laser it does have the same case as the outgoing model so size dimentions etc are the same the wavelenth, power etc is not see below
The new laser and filter is already fitted on the n750 digisight and it is this what gives it the more grainy look than using a l808 instead of the inbuilt.the new 808s has also got the grainy look. Removing the filter on the 750 and the l808s makes the laser too bright unless its a very very long distance. it is far too bright for any range under 300 yrds. no one has been able to dim it down a bit and get rid of the grainy picture. compared to the old laser the new one is not as good, could be why it can be offered at a cheaper price
other changes include the wavelenth is 780mm was 808mm (hence name)
the range of divergence is now wider is 3-5-15 was 3-12
the operation time is masivly extended on the new laser now 14 hours was 6. due to the new laser not using as much power its not the same laser as the l808
you pay your money you take your chance if i was buying i would spend my money on the L808, not on something that will never be as good, ohh but the man in the shop says

rocket launcher, where did you manage to find those specs mate...i couldn't find owt anywhere near as exhaustive as that
so is the filter on the "s" just some 808nm i.r filter?......seems daft to make it 250mw and then have to filter it down

silent knight, have a free bump mate lol

I've removed the eye safe filter from the laser on my N750 & it's "bright" out to around 14 miles :wtf:

I'll try a couple of ideas soon - see if I can tame it a bit
