Product evolving.

An issue has been raised about the cable routing from the camera. In the item description I indicated I would let the buyer drill their own cable exit hole - and suggested it is best done in the side so that part of the cable is concealed in the wide inner part of the tube. I'm slightly dyslexic and didn't say exactly where. :think:

After a few buyers contacted me to ask where is the best place to drill the hole, what size hole and that some of them did not have a bench drill I decided to drill the hole as a standard feature in the same place I did my own... but failed to indicate I had changed the specification:

So I'll do that now before it gets forgotten. I have drilled a hole in the side of the DSA that the small white camera cable plug can pass through. Although it can face downwards I have swung it round for the photo:

On receiving his DSA a recent buyer has expressed that he wanted to drill his own hole in the end cap fitting - which I think means it will possibly get more easily snagged unless taped or laggy banded to the body. To be fair, I have removed this image of my add-on rig from the top of my signature adverts that showed this so it is not now readily apparent;

I have done this to each of the remaining few so cannot undo the hole as it were, and although it can be filled in and positioned facing downwards to be out of sight I have offered a complete refund - including return RMSD postage costs.

As market research then, before I consider having another batch made could some members indicate if they would like a camera cable/plug exit hole/slot made for them - and where please - or not?

I'm slightly dyslexic so I'll clarify something I wrote earlier in the thread - and will also edit the first post to make this clearer:

I do not think these are suitable for the Optisan MTC range of scopes that have the raised large heavy knobbly reticle focus adjuster - nor any scope with an illuminated reticle adjustment lump on the eyebell.

The eyebell needs to be clean/smooth/no lumps or bumps or knobs on it.

However - one is on the way someone who will hopefully indicate if the revised version with split bushes suit MTC scopes without an IR module on it.

Thanks Dave for the dsa you sent it works great on my mamba lite,i tried it first without any of the 2 bushers included but when tightened the collar it still rotated so i put the bigger of the 2 bushers on over the raised grip on the eyebell then tightened up and hey presto works a treat,just waiting for my battery pack coming then i,m good to go,

Funny you should ask that - I was at the machine shop 'tother day to recover something and he had a spare one done - but without any shims.

I think your scope eyebell diameter is 41mm - I should be able to make a suitable shim for that if you can confirm the diameter.
