I'm not going to gloat about mine, thanks to Bruce's generous help: its only mono but just open the sunroof, plonk it on the roof and turn it and the receiver on - no cables apart from a short battery supply to the 7" in car receiver/recorder. Reach out the roof or above the drivers window to adjust pan/tilt as required for around five hours constant on. Plug in a charger or external battery to the sender if needing longer.

Feel free to copy any ideas from it anyone.

I'm not gloating honest.. nope. The pugs are getting a bit stubborn these days, I've lost one finger up there already.

Personally I prefer using a handle through the roof, like the light force or Tracer option vehicle ones. Then fit an internal screen and use run the wire through the handle for the video output..Much better control, rapid like keepers who cover large areas fast with a lamp it’s the same principal , motorised options are not for me , but I can see the appeal ... less setup and so simple the handle option, takes me seconds to fit and remove my vehicle setup with a QD mount or pulsar tripod mount .. try both and see what suits ..

I have the Guide Nano and TK models if you want a decent deal
though.

What is a good model to do just this as I would like something to put on my lightforce handle and the wifi on the pulsars is rubbish.

What field of view do you require or detection distance, also budget ?

Not really sure something that would be equivalent to spotting with lamp. Something good. Like my accolade but as I say the wifi is very poor so the wired is of interest

This is my set up, tracer tr7200 bar and handle. A 234 rc montrotta quick release camera mount on to the handle is secure and easy to take on and off. Note the extra suction pad just in case! I had to fabricate a bracket for the quantum so it is working in the correct axis. 360 degree spotting and useful to have the extra height to see over hedges etc.

once you get the hang of it you wont need to zoom, every animal moves differently and with practice you will id a fox at serious distance. I think if you are working alone and want to cover large areas then this is the best set up possible.

i use the same sort setup and if you do need any zoom which you dont i can just
press the button on the wireless remote control as the pulsar quantum XQ50 & XQ38 comes with wireless remote
