If it's mounted 2" left of your scope then leave it 2" left of your scope 300m down range ( then no divergence what so ever ) so thats not even a rabbit size head so you wouldn't miss the ranged target, you wouldn't even get that kind of accuracy on a hand held device at 300m ......everyone who has
looked through a standard rangefinder and aimed the thick opaque cross hair at a rabbit 300m away will question themselves !.......however, looking through your scope cross hair at a rabbit at 300m at its body with one of these devices......do you think you will miss calculate the range, don't think so

Whatever you set it as? Ok I admit to being a little confused now! Beam divergence isn't something you can set it's the increasing width of the laser beam as distance increases, cheaper laser range finders have far larger beam divergences than the higher quality, more expensive options.

I have one of each of Splatty's laser rangefinders and having seen the laser beam (using an NV spotter) I can tell you that horizontally, it's not more than 4 inches at 100 yards and vertically not more than 6 inches at 100 yards.
I've ranged stuff out beyond 400 yards with it and if the NV spotter is set up correctly, it's still possible to see the beam at that range.
Now that I'm happy they do the job well, I've fitted one of his new rangefinders (OLED display) to one of my DIY thermal spotters.
I mounted the thermal spotter on a tripod at set the laser going at a target about 100 yards away.
I then looked to see where the laser was hitting with an NV spotter.
I then mechanically adjusted the position of the laser so that the beam was roughly in the centre of the thermal's field of view.
Finally, I adjusted the position of the reticle on the thermal so that it coincided with the spot from the laser.
I now have a thermal spotter which also gives me a distance to the target.

Cheers

Does sound very useful, especially now they are smaller.

Sorry rabbitman1 , i completely miss read your question......I have a few family matters that are fuzzing my brain.

Yes the beam does get bigger over distance, and like Bruce said it's more like a short thin line, most rangefinders work in this way, keep it center of your
aim point and the rangefinder will range correctly up to its maximum range

Thanks

When are you hoping to have the new mount mate? also will the new mount fit on this unit as an after market add on if I was to buy this unit?
Thanks
