SFH4715 - it's just the LED
SFH4715S - it's the LED on the board (aka Star because the board looks like a star)

I think you'll find the 'S' designates the higher power one we are all using, not that it's on a star.

hummm just checked that and i think you're right lol but strangelly the difference that mouser told me was what i said but just checked the datasheet and i guess you're right!

any way, the ones i bought are the SFH4715S.

i have them already.

i have ordered a few empty boards in case of the LED's didn't came on boards (i have the appropriated tools for soldering them) but they actually came mounted... don't know if it's normal but they came.

i just saw that Pesca found a creelant copy! and the creelant 66mm head it's just a drop in???!!!! i guess i won't sell these anymore :S
