I bought my first Drone in early Dec 2013, I can't remember the exact price but it was something like a £1050, this was the x5-x10 model.
I bought my 5-10 from Carl on the stand at the Stoneleigh show in Feb ‘14 and paid £1550... that got sent back and replaced under warranty in late May 14 after it started switching itself off on a shot.

Feb15, Carl updated the firmware/camera to the later model foc

But then that scope started playing up while I was up in Scotland.... batteries draining overnight, wouldn’t switch off, didn’t retain x&y settings...between us we discovered at the same time that when fitting the prism rail, the factory had buggered up one of the end helicoil thread inserts so just just left the screw out...and at some heat of the moment point of chasing a fox round a hill, the prism rail got bent slightly and put the scope out of zero anyway! Spent 4 nights trying to get onto that fox only for the shot to go whistling over it’s head. Arse.

Of course we couldn’t prove that missing screw was down to the factory so Carl replaced it with a final pre-production x10 body and a 5-10 lens assembly on the front.

Excellent service from Carl..... a shame that he’s no longer in the nv sphere(perhaps he is?) a man of many ideas and a crying shame that Flir took over Armasight and fecked it up completely....along with everyone involved in it.

I always looked forward to catching up with Carl at the Shooting Shows.... another time, another place perhaps?

Cheers

Fizz
My 5-10 drone now sits in a kevgun mount...
Kev, if you read this....and you’ve a junk x10 lying around with a good lens assembly on the front? You can probably see where my mind is going......

A correct grip on the butt & cheekweld is imperative for accurate shooting.
