I even pick HMR cases up, or try to get as many as possible up. Is it only me then that doesn't leave anything littering the fields ?

Good on ya. I try and ensure I pick my rimfire cases up as well but I know some eject out of sight. I use a metal detector on our land and was amazed at how much junk i found on what at first glance you would think is seriously rural, out of the way land. From condom wrappers to coke cans, i have found all sorts. The most annoying "imposter" signals you can find as a detectorist are WWII .303 VII shell cases and their corresponding FMJ's or those natty little vet tubes used for treating mastitis in cows. I have found bovine syringes and all sorts. Not blaming vets though. I know what it is like to be caught in the middle of a crush where all sense of consideration goes out the window and self preservation kicks in.

Best not to get me started on supposed green waste that is full of furniture fixings, plastics and other non degradable items that are not disclosed correctly to farmers. Fortunately I find lots of cool stuff to offset the chaff that inevitably turns up on every outing.

I don't go detecting en masse with others like those detecting rallies but on the whole they deffo pay plenty of money to land owners to dig their holes and remove ring pulls from the land. It is hard to find anything positive to say about purposely disposing of litter around the countryside let alone so that someone can get their kicks out of watching someone suffer who is pursuing a perfectly legal and harmless.

For me, it pays to ensure the shooting community is seen as a useful, responsible bunch rather than the opposite. If I was on someone elses land, that would stand even more.

Generally nothing goes on floor cf brass is kept to reload and hmr stuff drops into truck or onto windscreen and collected drink cans and sandwiches packets in foot well.....its only for a laugh I don't see any harm done at all and only happens once in a blue moon

And to be fair you know full well it will bring them md some excitement
