Re: For Sale Drone Pro 10x
Hi. I have not had a NV before but I am thinking of getting one. I have looked at the ATN Aries 410, pulsar 550 or maybe the photon 6x50. It's to go onto .17hmr. The drone has got good reviews but more money! Any advice on the above would be great! Would the drone fit onto a Rimfire ok?
Thanks Duncan
Thanks Duncan

hi Duncan
don't waste your time with the others, for this money the drone is king
I have 2 now the older one is sat on a cz 17hmr for short range work out to 150 yards and the other is sat on my custom 20 tac. I cannot fault them great bits of kit and I would not be without one.

bob.

Hi Duncan.
I have had a lot of n/v's over the years, some of my kit has been correct from the off, some has been moved on because it wasn't the best choice, or equipment has got better.
My advice for n/v for an hmr would be sort of what iv'se got now "Wardy 700/800" with a n/v friendly day scope, such as a mtc mamba-lite 4-16x44, or Hawke sidewinder with same mag, and a very powerful illuminator such as a T74
The reason for this is with the above set up you can find the rabbits on 4 mag with the wider field of view, then when your on them, mag up as high as you like, 16x if you like, the "Wardy" with a good illuminator will do that.
The photon's Drone pro and others, 4-6 mag isnt ideal for head shooting rabbits out to 80-100 yds/M, and 10 mag to start with has a narrower field of view for finding the rabbits in the first place, ---------with the "Wardy" and appropriate scope it address's this, and the rifle can be used in daylight as normal.
I do own the Drone pro 10x, IMO its at it best for the longer shots such as long range foxing with a centre fire rifle.

Re: For Sale Drone Pro 10x
With the original Drone Pro, like the one for sale in this thread, you can remove the doubler and use it for rabbits at x5, perfect IMO.

Us experienced n/v user's have our own idea's, and they can differ.AnthonyR wrote:With the original Drone Pro, like the one for sale in this thread, you can remove the doubler and use it for rabbits at x5, perfect IMO.
Finding the rabbits on a fixed mag with either the original Drone pro at 5.8 mag ? or the photon's at what ever mag.
My point is with the Wardy and appropriate day scope you have the low mag wider field of view to find in the first place, then you can mag up high whilst staying on target for the shot, with a fixed mag of between 4-6 you have have low enough mag to find your quarry, but not enough for head shooting at 100 yd/m, and with the Drone pro at 10 mag, or a doubled photon you have the high mag for shot placement, but restricted field of view to find in the first place, ------------ive known people move on form the photon 6x with and without doubler to the "wardy" because of this.

Re: For Sale Drone Pro 10x
Sort of agree with both above but if you can stretch to it the best is to use thermal to spot and a drone to shoot.
