What about the new Ludicrous Lumens option HDL700 thingy?
Bit like the WDV but with the screw in a better position in my opinion. Cheaper too.

I have a Wdv700 and have looked through the HDL700 and to be honest the ward smashed it into next week! I understand that LL do have a new one conning out soon which promises to be better than the HDL700 but then we now have the Ward800s so I know what I would have

agreed, it's the price and the location of that damn screw that put me off the 700 as it fouled my bolt every time and moving the scope back rendered it useless during the day.
tilting it side on worked but the fov was just too narrow and it kept slippping round.
Messing with the dioptre each time you switch to add on left it being a bit too slow if you needed to do it in a hurry so hopefully the 800 has a focus on the outside

I bought my mounts around the add on so height not a problem. As for the diopter I just mark the night setting so it takes around 2 seconds to go from day to night, I can cope with that. The 800 will be the same set up in that regard as the 700.

What is the problem with the screw fouling the bolt?

The screw that holds the wdv onto the scope catches and my bolt wont coe far enough back to eject spent casing.
I could have used higher mounts but then I'd need a cheek raiser and it messes with the setup.
I could have used a butt pad and move scope back but then it messes with the feel of the rifle.
That's the problem, if it had been on the left (probably more right handers than left) then it would be fine.

Don't get me wrong I've had a wdv and loved it and Clive has always been great with all my queries if a little slow at times but this is just a silly thing that could easily be moved.
