Archer, anyone interested?

Post by mole trapper » 09 Feb 2016, 17:04

Hi folks, just seeing if anyone is interested, I have a starlight archer c grade, it's about five years old, bought it from starlight. It started flickering, first off I thought it was the laser messing around, anyway rang Julian and explained that the picture quality is still as good as the day I bought it, but it's flickering bright and dimmer. He said he knows exactly what that is, something to do with the tube being purged? About £160.
Well I meant to get it off to them but I haven't until recently, he just sent a message saying tube shot!
Well me an him never really got off to a good start shall we say!! Anyways I told him to send it back.
So is anyone interested in the housing, clamp and laser and a tube that is perfect except the flickering.
I would prefer to meet up for it to be seen.
Price ???? I honestly don't know what it's worth?
Any mods able to give a rough idea please.
Regards,
Jamie.

Ok, so a few pm,s of interest in it but unfortunately nothing on the open forum suggesting what I should ask.
So, my logic says to buy one is £1600, if it needs a new tube they are £800, so if someone bought this for two hundred they are immediately saving six hundred quid.
So let's try that for a starter! Not trying to auction it.

Hiya, as I said, I'm not trying to auction it. If you feel happy to pay that, I feel it's a fair price.
I have explained the situation exactly as it has happened, I wouldn't want anyone buying it and then saying it doesn't work.
Regards,
Jamie.

Thank you for the offer, unfortunately mmbeatle has said he would like it so I must in fairness give him first refusal.
I don't want to be Seen as a profiteering you know what!
If he changes his mind you have second refusal at the lower price he offered.
Kind regards,
Jamie.

Well admittedly pest control does pay rather well when it's your own business :D , however the unit has paid for itself many times over, also it's not working as it should, and lastly I've got to sell it cheap as my accountant will want to off set it against profits.
If the first gentleman does change his mind your still welcome to it at £200
