some bloke wrote:Lol, you and I are both stubborn oldies, maybe I'm more Victor Meldrew than you and haven't got the patience. You've tried haggling prices via PM - but I told you the price on this open thread and PM, that should have been the point where you decide to buy it or not.

You asked here about the price for ALL the parts - then complained by PM about me including the cost of the machined end fitting that you seemingly didn't need - but didn't tell me that. I apologised for misunderstanding you and quoted the price without the end fitting... Now you've decided you do want the end fitting after all but ask if I will accept £55 for all the parts - delivered but you have clearly been told £58.

Having been mugged off by people claiming non delivery of recorded delivery postal items in the past I now only supply parts via RMSD - which you will find costs £7 something for that package size. I generalised my postage rate on this thread at £8 - but told you by PM it would be £7, so £57 posted RMSD. I have never suggested I post via any other method.

This is all about you wanting to save first a few quid - and now just two pounds.

I'm British mate - British people say the price we want - we do not barter.

Sorry Roger but I can't be doing with such too-ing and fro-ing for a potential sale of a hard to get item. The price is there for all to see.
Can I suggest you save the few quid and get one of the ebay alternatives?

Unfortunately you also caught me at a time when I am seriously considering withdrawing from supplying bespoke home build parts because so many 'will-do' alternatives are being promoted as the best thing to have on other sites that specialise in the cheapest possible builds.

Dave,
Well done, for sticking to your price - and for letting us know the background in such diplomatic language
The problem is that too may people think it's like Bargain Hunt on the telly where the ticket price is only a starting point for negotiation and so expect to get stuff for less than that
I'm sure you will have costed your product and have set a fair price for it.
Rogerjones seems a little pissed off that you have made his "negotiating position" public and bemoans the fact that you chose to explain why you would not reduce your price.
Full marks for your patience - I'd have told him to f**k off long ago!

Cheers

Bruce

LOL, speak your mind Bruce.

I'm feeling guilty now because he's a nice old boy who maybe routinely haggles as a way of life.

It just came at the time I've kicked a few things into touch (only lens adaptors ATM) because this home build malarkey is turning towards most buyers only wanting to buy the cheapest thing they can get rather than something custom made that makes the build easier or better. I'm not going to lay out money like that any more.

That's the story of my life right there!
Did you get a chance to see if the DSA would fit the Leapers UTG Scopes - specifically the UGM312AOIEW

Ooooops, sorry ignore that, I missed your reply

Some bloke, if you're not doing the C mount lens adaptors any more could you recommend an alternative?
Thanks

There area couple of alternatives on the bay, the easiest is an M12 to C mount but it has a narrow neck that restricts light from the edges of wide rear lens glass to the outer corners of the sensor, and will need the E700 neck trimming back; Or ones that screw onto the cheaper board cams which most use, I suspect because it's easier than removing some of the neck from an E700 and less money tied up in cameras.

http://www.stockoptics.com/cctv-lenses/ ... older.html

A secondary reason I stopped making lens adaptors is that it was said (elsewhere) that I only endorse the E700 so strongly because I make adaptors for it, well that is no longer the case.

Tell them to get to fuck Dave, too many idiots that have no clue about the costs of bespoke items, these mugs happily pay some turd in a garage £60 an hour to fix the mrs motor :wtf:
