Magpie Speed-Dating day = today

Post by Gren » 04 Nov 2014, 10:33

Each year they flock together on a bright autumn day to pair up the remaining young and take a look at the group territories. You'll see flocks of up to 40, making a hell of a noise as they go. I've just seen 20+ go bye as the clans gather. I'll try and post a picture later when they settle.

Happy hunting.

Birds are interesting animals and have some odd characteristics, don't they!

We had a flock of around 50 Lapwings on a field this year that stayed for several months! Lovely to see and listen to as well. They make an unusual sound.

The best Magpie is a dead Magpie. LOL Nest raiding buggers.

Good shooting.
