Think I'll be sighting-in rather than shooting. Just about every rifle has had a scope change
Looks like the dry spell could be most of next week too

I'll be doing similar George, got to get my HMR sorted in readiness for harvest and VISIBLE rabbits.
Got some Federal, Hornady, CCI and Winchester rounds to play with so that should keep me busy for a while, just need it to be fairly still though which might prove to be a bigger problem than the rain.
I need to find out what's been upsetting the groups with this rifle, so will be trying it after cleaning with a brush and solvent, a brush on it's own, after using a snake and with a mucky barrel, so a few boxes will be going through it I think.
Make or break time, if it won't play ball it's going down the road.

Well, we've had 1500 birds arrive today that need guarding, so lots of sitting out for me. Takes a while for them to realise that if they stray too far from the pen that they leave themselves wide open to losing their heads to charlie.

They can come and go, but initially, they have to learn where the food and water is. There's nothing other than that that brings them back to the pen.
We've built a new pen this year that in theory, can hold 3000 birds. We've 1200 in that pen and 300 in a smaller pen. It's a bigger pen, more secure, and we've changed our drinkers to a type that is more hygenic. The theory is that they'll be less inclined to stray, until we want them to.
It's at this stage what we need a spell of good weather to bring them along, and also it's this vital time that they need some extra protection. Once they're flying well, they suit themselves, but that ability to fly well helps them avoid the birds of prey and vulpes vulpes.

Trying to shoot pheasants, out of season? Surely not
If his mug shot comes up on our trail cams, I'll be sure to let you know
