A quick intro

Evening fellas,

I have been directed this way from the SD forum as I am very interested in the world of night vision.
I am currently setting up a .204 ruger as a foxing rig and started to look into nv options and was blown away by what's out there.
I have joined your forum in the hope to gain some knowledge and meet some people who can point me in the right direction.

Hi Sam, welcome to the forum.

Were you thinking of a dedicated rig - or adding one behind an existing rifle scope?

Whilst I appreciate the above steer my personal feelings are that 'scopeless' or 'no-scope' as I call them now are not quite up to the required shot placement precision at centre fire ranges of 200 yards yet.

I'm aiming for a nv monocular rear add on behind a Zeiss diavari 6-24x56. I'm thinking nightmaster 800 ir or similar. Obviously interested in a pvs14 but would like to know what other options there are out there.

Howdy.

I'm from Hartlepool, but been living in Australia contract shooting roos for meat, then a stint in South Africa shooting bush pigs. Hoping to get back to ol' blighty soon so that I can sup a pint of the decent stuff with me cobbers, oops, meant to say muckers

Most of the hunting was with spotlights until I discovered the amazing Pulsar DFA75, though it pays to get a decent scope (preferably European).

I'm really looking forward to shooting some tree rats again.

Lucky you out there. I'm actually from the south of Perth, west oz. Been here for 11 years now so some would say I'm a POM!
Haven't looked at the pulsar dfa75 to be honest. There are so many options out there. I did like the idea of front mounted NV but have been told to steer clear as it apparently is a nightmare to zero each time, especially if you are swapping it on rifles often. How do you find it?
