Lurker comming out of the shadows to say hello

Hi to all, another newbie to the world of NV.

The inner child in me always wanted NV but could never justify having it,
so about 5 years ago I made up a reason to justify getting a scope only to have my dreams dashed as expectation vs budget did not match (gen1 budget gen 3 expectation)

About 2 years ago the itch came back an I looked into DIY NV with gen1 cascade tubes but the physical size and weight vs requirement put me off.

Fast forward to the present and Digital NV seems to be ticking all the boxes.
with the wealth of info and support on this forum hopefully I can realise the dream this time

digital has certainly come a long way in the last year or so, some of the new camera's are tiny, which makes for some excellent diy builds,

also the cost of components is very affordable

this still wont stop you spending a whole load of your hard earned though

Hi Giles, welcome to the forum.

The digital age has well and truly come to night vision devices mate. We're not quite up to tubed zero/minimal artificial light GEN 2 or 3 yet - but not far off if you can dedicate a rifle to NV.
