Hello Cozzy.

Will be (got to be, as it's only six weeks before our 1500 birds arrive), but to be honest, the ground is so wet already, without it lashing down every day, it's a pain in the butt, at the moment.

I took an old boy who does target shooting out to see how he liked a bit of lamping last night/this morning. I have reverted back to mostly lamping now the bulk of the problem ones have been cleared up for the time being being as the nights are getting shorter.

I got one of those Ultrabright red led jobbies the other week and tried it out on the bunnies. It's good with the plain lens it came with up to fac air but bung an aspheric lens on it and it will easily identify bunnies out to well beyond 100 yards. The trick with the aspheric lens is to spray a spare reflector black. The result is barely any splash and a high intensity square at about the size of the field of view of a 6 or 8 mag scope.

I can now understand why people complained about 'lines' in some lasers because it basically produces a larger image of the emitter. If the reflector were to be trimmed back too much the emitter would become too focused and reproduce the lines too much.

There are new 5W IR illuminators available for that unit now - in both 850nm and 940nm, should do the job for air rifle ranges at the very least. There are extended remote pressure switches available for it for pennies too - taped to the pistol grip they are ideal.

If it's not raining then I out once or twice a week. I would probably get out a bit more but 35 miles to travel to the land. 45 if I go from work. And I think she might start to complain. But I tend to make a day of it on the weekend. Mooch for bambi in the day, bunnies in the evening and maybe a fox at night. Or variations on a theme.

It does mean that I get home later that night or the next day as I might be out till 2 or 3 am.

I love my hobbie.

Cracking evening weather wise yesterday. Started off badly. Saw a Muntie and we stalked into 67 yards................ and my mate missed. Couldn't believe it.
Had a walk around and not many bunnies out. Think the wind was in the wrong direction. Managed to get 4 though. As we were finishing off we were walking down an old railway track and spotted cubs. Mate got one. We walked back to the car and got the NV as it was getting late and I got 2 more. So will be going back for the vixen and final cub soon as. Turned out to be a good night. One happy farmer.

Archer. I have done a review somewhere else on the forum. Which then went off topic. Actually I must go and reread it and see if my opinion has changed any.
I like it. Great bit of kit. Certainly gets used.
