Hello everyone! New guy here from the US.

I happen to find forum through Marky610's Youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9dSsST7_Yw I am currently building my own DIY NV project. I really wish I would have found this place, before I got too far into the project. NV forums on my side, are places you got to get coupons on consumer NV and post product reviews...certainly not a place that has any real info or technology explained. Upon reading through some threads since I registered, all I can say is "WoW! You guys got a lot of great content here.

I apologize ahead of time if I post something in a way that is "too American". As I read through the boards, I have come to the realization that there is cultural difference between the way you and I use the English language. I will try not to mess things up.

I will be sure to post some pics. Unfortunately the majority of the pics are on another forum that is experiencing some server issues at the moment.

Do not worry; show and tell was built into the project from the start.

The project started with basic information that I found years ago in the Maker world. I had the basics down and did not think much of building anything, until a start-up company attempted to sell a "finished product" (similar to some of the builds everyone has on the forum) at one of my usual forums. In merely looking at the finished product, I knew exactly what the whole thing was about. The company was asking an exorbitant amount of money for a finished unit. I figured I could build a better one, on the cheap. Unfortunately, the build was saturated with a bunch of redundant purchasing, returns, and experimentation before I found stuff that would work. I essentially finished the project yesterday evening. Go figure, I find this place in the last days of the build. I started the project in the hopes of it being and open source build. Stuff was super simplified. I wanted to catalog everything as I went. I was posting it on a State-side gunforum. I wanted to come up with a "version 1.0" that anyone with minimalistic skills could emulate. It has been an on going project for the last 2.5 months. It has been a long road of, turning a few screws and soldering a wire, and then spend 4 hours taking pictures and typing a thread. If the forum has the room, I will be more than happy to post the entire build. I will warn you ahead of time; it is massive, and posted with US measurements and dialect.

Now, that I have been here for less than two day, I realize that I must purchase a T-20! I am seeing two models on US searches; one selling for $25USD, the other for $100USD. Is there something that I am missing? Based on the posts I am reading here...a T-20 is a T-20. Are there multiple versions of a T-20? Does anyone know where I can purchase a finished IR "pill insert", and have it shipped over here?

Frogman, there's no problem with you posting your entire build here We'd love to see it.

Ian is your man for t20 torches, he sells the torch and pill and willing to export to us.
There are few opportunistic sellers out there trying to cash in and sells them for a lot of money, but generally prices are around £45-£55 with IR conversion, Which makes them perfect for digital NV units.
