talking canned food here

i vote for a fray bentos pie. sure, i'v had nicer pie's....but for sommat that comes in a tin, and lasts for years it aint a bad pie at all.
i'm quite partial to tinned peaches as well. but they are nowhere near as nice as a fresh peach. but the humble bentos can put up a decent fight for itself against a fresh pie......follow my thinking there?

so in a comparison between tinned and fresh. whats the nicest thing that comes in tin?

Nah, none of that savoury pie stuff - it's got to be something sweet to feed my sugar habit - condensed milk!!

Cheers

There are only 2 things in a tin that go together like peaches and cream and that is Frey Bentos steak pie (better when on special in Tesco's for a quid) and tinned new potatoes, put the pie in the oven till the gravy comes over the side and makes a crust around the tin (makes the last spoon full better when you have to scrape the edge), put the tinned new potatoes in the deep fat fryer till chrispy and brown, put the whole pie on a plate and the spuds around the outside  :D  ...........good god I'm now starving.....need a character that rubs is belly ;)

P.S shame marmite doesn't come in a tin

More seriously, peach slices. Apple pie diced apples. The canned pie filling we can buy here makes a better apple pie than a store bought one.
I've eaten Fray Bentos a few times. It makes good emergency food but is not anywhere near a real pie. Sorry guys, looks like you have soggy taste buds to go with your soggy skies. :P

In the USA you can buy tactical bacon in a can. The can is black of course. No idea if the bacon is any good.
