rechargeable batteries

can anyone tell me the best aa rechargeable batteries I can buy for my FoxPro,sorry should have said the ones that dont lose their charge when not in use cheers.

Not sure if you already do this but unplugging the battery holder from the foxpro unit helps maintain battery charge.

I've got a FX5 and thats the same, if I leave the batteries connected to the unit it seems to have a drain on the batteries even when it's switched off! :crazy:

You'll find that even if your batteries are left to stand for several days without being attached to a device, they will drain down.

Always best to do a top-up charge on the day of intended use.

Why do they do this George, is it just the nature of rechargeables?

Unsure, to be honest. They don't rapidly discharge, you understand, but it's enough for you to notice.

Definitely do not leave them in the charger, once charged, and as you say, best not to leave them in flashlights and the like either.

If you have to store them for some time, they reckon they should be stored with about 40% of their charge.

Been checking this out and these batteries can discharge by as much as 6% in the first twenty hours and the percentage drops thereafter. That's for a fully charged battery.

For a half-charged battery, the figure is 2%.

They discharge quicker in higher temperatures, so the tip is to keep them somewhere cool.
