Scam e mails

I have been getting quite a few scam e mails lately supposedly from my bank , amazon and various other places but i have just got one i am not sure about from royal mail

Mail - Lost / Missing package - UK Customs and Border Protection
Royal Mail has detained your package for some reason (for example, lack of a proper invoice, bill of sale, or other documentation, a possible trademark violation, or if the package requires a formal entry) the RM International Mail Branch holding it will notify you of the reason for detention (in writing) and how you can get it released.

Please fulfil the documents attached.


Is there any way you can tell if its genuine or not without opening the attachment ? , i am waiting on a delivery but as it cost me less than a pound i'm not to worried about it

Not to royal mail but i am waiting on something i bought from e bay and they have my e mail address so possibly it was passed on to the sellers when i placed the order ?

I've been getting that too - hover your mouse over the mail and it should show the address it's come from, and it didn't look like the royal mail!
Pretty sure it isn't anyway.

Yes i tried that but it didnt work , i'm fairly certain now it is iffy and just a coincidence that i am expecting a delivery so i will delete it.

I doubt it is genuine.
They would return to sender or a card would drop to your letterbox for incurred charges.

Remember, Royal Mail are in the business of delivering letters and packages so it's not in their business interests to start sending e mails.
If they contact you it will be by letter or postcard.

Like you say there are loads of scam emails with general details they have harvested from my recent internet visits.
Everyone needs to be extra careful opening any email links.
Once you click the link or give them any details your screwed.
At the very least you will end up paying a ransom to get your PC working again.

Yes that makes sense when you think about it , i have just checked my e mails and i have had another one exactly the same as the last one
